FAQs

Yes. The pot and lid are made from 100% pure kaolin clay — no ceramic coating, no non-stick treatment, no plastic anywhere near your food. Because there's no coating, there's nothing that can chip, scratch off, or break down into what you're eating. Our clay has been third-party tested by Light Labs and is free of heavy metals and PFAS. What you cook in is clay, and only clay.

A basic rice cooker does one thing: heat until the water's gone, then shut off. Fuzzy logic is smarter than that. It monitors the temperature continuously through the whole cycle and adjusts heat and timing on the fly — compensating for how much rice you've added, how much water it absorbed, even how cold your kitchen is. Once it is done it automatically switches to keep warm.

- White Rice and Brown Rice — fully automated, 1 to 5 cups
- Porridge — congee, slow-cooked to a silky finish
- Oatmeal — timed by quantity, from 30 minutes to just over an hour
- Slow Cook — HI or LO, up to 12 hours
- Braise — up to 12 hours of low, moist heat for tougher cuts
- Steam — vegetables, fish, dumplings, up to an hour
- Keep Warm — holds serving temperature for up to 24 hours
-
Ten cups of cooked rice from five cups uncooked — dinner for a family of four to six, with leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. Scale down to a single cup when it's just you; fuzzy logic adjusts automatically, so a small batch cooks as well as a full one.

The clay pot and lid are both dishwasher safe. They also hand-wash easily with a soft cloth or sponge and mild dish soap. Never put the base unit in the dishwasher or submerge it in water — wipe it with a damp cloth and dry it thoroughly instead.
-
The clay is glazed with the same material it is made out of: Kaolin Clay. The glazing happens when it is fired at over 1500F which also removes all toxins.
Our glaze is third party tested and is free from all heavy metals like lead and cadmium.
-
No. Your food sits in clay and is covered by clay. The base unit houses the electronics and heating system and never contacts what you're cooking.
We provide plastic measuring cups and a plastic rice paddle, but feel free to use glass or wood alternatives.
-
Two quick steps. Remove all packaging, stickers, and tape, then wipe the base with a damp cloth and dry it. Wash the clay pot and lid with warm, soapy water and rinse. Then run the unit empty for 10 minutes in a well-ventilated room. That's it — you're ready to cook.
-
Yes. Hold the CUPS/DELAY button for 3 seconds to set a delayed start anywhere from 30 minutes to 24 hours out. Load it before bed, wake up to fresh porridge.
Keep Warm automatically switches on after cooking and holds your food at serving temperature for up to 24 hours. You can also start it on its own with already-cooked food.
-
If you take care of the clay it can last for years.
You should never thermally shock the clay or use abrasive cleaners.
Kaolin clay will naturally season itself and more become more non-stick over time as well.
