Filipino Bistek

Adapted by Kyle Libramonte
Prep Time: 45 m. • Cook Time: 1 h.
Serves: 3-4 People
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs top Round or Sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 Lemons, Juiced
- ¼ cup Soy Sauce
- 2 Onions, one thinly sliced, the other cut into rings
- ¼ cup Green Onions, thinly sliced
- 1 Head of Garlic, minced
- ¼ tsp Pepper
- 3 Tbsp Neutral Oil
- 1 cup Water
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, add the meat, thinly sliced onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, lemon juice, and pepper. Massage together and let marinate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight.
2. Preheat your Magnifique Claypot Oven to Sear/Sauté High.
3. While preheating, separate the meat from the onions, garlic, and sauce.
4. Once preheated, add oil to your Claypot and sear the beef. Once seared, add rest of vegetables and marinade to Claypot and combine.
5. Switch the cooking Mode to Braise, cover with the lid for about 45 minutes or until the meat is tender.
6. Once tender, set Mode to High Sear/Sauté to let the sauce really get to desired thickness. I like when the sauce clings to the meat, but it's personal preference!
7. Throw in the onion rings to soften just enough, and garnish with green onions. Serve over rice and enjoy!
